This season Park Street Orienteering in Melbourne is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Blackburn Lake was one of the first maps developed for Park Street orienteering, although I am told the current map is a lot more detailed than it was back then.
To celebrate this map’s 40th anniversary, Russell is digging back into his archives to provide us with a little nostalgia. The map will be the current version – but does that control site feel familiar or perhaps the whole course?
Come along and find out and help Yarra Valley celebrate Blackburn Lake’s 40th anniversary this Wednesday evening, February 22.
The event will also be a qualifier for the Park Street Championships, with the final to be held the following Wednesday at Bellbird Dell.
If you would like to be part of this competition, check the details, compete on the running or walking course that matches your age group, and use a BLUE card to signal your nomination as a qualifier.
