2016 Park and Street Champs Won by Rachel and Bruce

Congratulations to the seventy qualifiers from metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong and Macedon who competed in the 2016 Park and Street Orienteering Championships at Mulgrave in ideal conditions.

Special congratulations to both Bruce Arthur and Rachel Johnson who successfully defended their Mens and Womens Open Championship for the fourth successive year.

Eight Running champions, six Power Walking champions and a new Junior Boys champion were crowned, and together with the 2nd and 3rd placegetters will be presented with their medals at the end-of-season Series Presentation Nights on Wednesday March 16..

All event finishes were keenly contested with three of the six Power Walking titles being decided by 1 point.

Thanks to course setter Ian Greenwood, event advisor Ray Howe, and the Dandenong Ranges Orienteering Club, for a fantastic night.  The map and course certinly provided a great physical and mental challenge, with a good initial plan being a key to success.
