A big welcome to 2014 and another great year of park and street orienteering! If your New Year resolution is to get fit and meet new people, then this is the place to be! If you can run at least 2-3 kms, or walk for an hour, and you’d like to explore your local area, get some fresh air, exercise your body and brain, and take up a new challenge, then Park and Street orienteering is perfect. Events are on summer evenings all over Melbourne, 4 nights a week.
If you live in the southeastern suburbs, then why not try the new Casey-Kingston Challenge? Join us for a walk or run every Monday evening from 7pm, starting on January 6 at Berwick. We are launching 5 fantastic new maps to add to last year’s set. With holiday traffic almost nonexistent, it’s a cruisy drive, so head down south.
If you’re holidaying further afield, how about the Surf Coast? The 2014 series continues next Saturday at Queenscliff with a score event, starting at 4pm. There will be the usual A,B and C courses, with the option of a 90 Min PW or Run for those who want a really good work out. The weather forecast is ideal for those who wish to combine a bit of exercise with a swim in the surf.
And don’t forget, our regular Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday series continue right through until March. Tuesday events are held in the western suburbs, Wednesdays in the eastern suburbs, and Thursdays in the north. Wherever you live or work, there’s a walk or run to be had near you. Visit our GETTING STARTED page to find out more, then head to the COMING EVENTS page to find your nearest event.
